I sometimes have trouble going up hill (yes I am out of practice). So it is great that I can get on the U-Bahn in Frankfurt with my bike and it takes me uphill and the ride home is a breeze on my bike downhill. And the bike goes free.
Yes, and knowing that if you cycle uphill and have a ride back is great, too.
On Streetblog, someone in NYC commented that cyclists who used to be ride public transport exclusively deserve a space sometimes, because, after all, they free up much more space than they use if they take a bike occasionally, even if it removes seats, etc.
